3D simulator room
Louis XVI bedroom
A bedroom with straight lines: a pearl grey dado with moulded panels picked out in blue, Gustavian blue walls and whitewashed herringbone parquet.

Louis XVI bedroom, in detail
The Louis XVI style favours straight panels and calm proportions. Here only the dado is dressed: moulded skirting, a Greek key dado rail and regular panels that step around the door and window. The upper wall stays free for pictures and the bedhead.
The mouldings are picked out in chalk white and the panel fields in pearl grey: two close tones that draw the panels without hardening them. Gustavian blue above the dado rail and the pale parquet keep the room light.

Why the dado rail sits at this height
- Proportion used: 33% of 280 cm gives 92 cm (an exact third would be 93 cm).
- Window sill at 90 cm, within 12 cm of the result: the rail drops to 2 cm below the sill so it runs beneath the window.
