A piece shaped with care,
from log to finish.
Historically used to structure reception rooms or protect walls, dado rails and friezes now bring unique relief and three-dimensional depth to contemporary and classic interiors alike.
The so-called 'Greek' motif, also known as the Greek key, is an age-old ornament inspired by Hellenic antiquity. With its unbroken line unfolding in perpetual motion, it traditionally symbolises infinity, continuity and unity. Widely used in Greek and later Roman architecture, it has come down through the centuries to adorn palaces, neoclassical villas and grand institutional buildings, particularly in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today it can be found in neoclassical-inspired decors, museums, hôtels particuliers (town mansions) and contemporary interiors seeking to reconnect with enduring elegance and harmonious geometry.

The profile is designed in 3D from the classical repertoire (spirals, Greek keys, egg-and-dart), or drawn to match an existing moulding.

Lengths are carved so that the motif carries on from one length to the next.

Care
Once fitted, dado rails are dusted with a feather duster or a dry cloth. Inner corners are cleaned with a soft brush.
On a painted finish, a local touch-up with a brush is enough after a knock; the workshop can give you the reference of the products used.
