Les cimaises et frises AC Boiseries reprennent le vocabulaire décoratif français : spirales, grecques, bordures et profils sur mesure. Elles peuvent être commandées au mètre linéaire, adaptées à votre essence de bois et finies selon le style de la pièce.

Picture rails and friezes structure the wall, emphasise a ceiling height and give rhythm to a run of rooms. Sold by the linear metre, they join with mitre cuts to run unbroken around the whole perimeter.

    The profile

    The profile is drawn from a template after the repertoires (spirals, Greek keys, ovolos) or designed bespoke to match your existing cornice.

    Carving by the metre

    Lengths are carved continuously to guarantee the motif carries from one bar to the next — no visible joint once installed.

  3. III

    The finish

    Raw for on-site painting, or an atelier finish (wax, stain, gilding) depending on the level of prestige sought.

  4. IV

    The setting-out

    On request, the atelier provides a setting-out of lengths and angles to make installation easier for your joiner.

Fine, pale grain

A soft, even-grained wood, ideal for fine carving and pieces meant to be painted or gilded. Light and stable, it is the atelier's reference species.

Oak

Bold, golden figure

The quintessential noble French wood. Hard, durable, with its recognisable figure, it lends prestige and patina to reception-room panelling.

Walnut

Deep, moiré brown

The most prestigious of our woods: deep brown, shimmering figure, silky patina. Reserved for exceptional pieces and varnished or waxed finishes.

Black locust

Dense, gold-green grain

Very dense and naturally rot-proof. Reserved for exposed pieces or projects demanding exceptional longevity.

Atelier finishes

Bare wood, simply sanded. For those who wish to apply their own finish or let the material breathe as it is.
Varnish+8%
A clear protective film that reveals the grain and guards against everyday marks. Available matt, satin or gloss.
Wood stain+10%
A translucent tint that colours the wood without masking its grain. Ideal to warm a pale species or even out a tone.
Wax+12%
A traditional beeswax finish, silky to the touch with a living patina that improves with time and care.
Paint+15%
Opaque lacquer applied in several coats, colour of your choice (swatch on request). A crisp, contemporary look or an aged, antiqued finish.
Gold leaf+45%
Gold or copper leaf laid on bole, burnished with an agate stone. The ceremonial finish, executed by hand, piece by piece.

Care

Surface-mounted, picture rails are dusted with a feather duster or dry cloth. Inner corners are cleaned with a soft brush.

On a painted finish, a local touch-up with a brush is enough after a knock; the atelier can supply the original tint.
