La croix occitane, également appelée croix du Languedoc ou croix de Toulouse, est un emblème historique dont les origines remontent au Moyen Âge. Popularisée par les comtes de Toulouse, elle est aujourd’hui le symbole de l’Occitanie et de son riche héritage culturel. Ses douze extrémités sphériques sont traditionnellement interprétées comme représentant les douze mois de l’année, les douze signes du zodiaque ou encore les douze apôtres, selon les traditions.

    Coat of arms, motto and external ornaments are redrawn by the rules of heraldry before being transferred onto the wood.

    Lime and oak are favoured for their ability to hold the finest detail — charges of the field, mantling, helm.

    Patina, polychromy of heraldic enamels or gold leaf underline the rank of the piece.

A soft, even-grained wood, ideal for fine carving and pieces meant to be painted or gilded. Light and stable, it is the atelier's reference species.

Oak

Bold, golden figure

The quintessential noble French wood. Hard, durable, with its recognisable figure, it lends prestige and patina to reception-room panelling.

Bare wood, simply sanded. For those who wish to apply their own finish or let the material breathe as it is.
Varnish+15%
A clear protective film that reveals the grain and guards against everyday marks. Available matt, satin or gloss.
Wood stain+15%
A translucent tint that colours the wood without masking its grain. Ideal to warm a pale species or even out a tone.
Wax+10%
A traditional beeswax finish, silky to the touch with a living patina that improves with time and care.
Paint+20%
Opaque lacquer applied in several coats, colour of your choice (swatch on request). A crisp, contemporary look or an aged, antiqued finish.
Gold leaf+90%
Gold or copper leaf laid on bole, burnished with an agate stone. The ceremonial finish, executed by hand, piece by piece.

Care

Wall pieces: regular dusting with a soft brush preserves the relief. Gilded parts are never touched with bare hands.

Keep away from direct humidity. A micro-crystalline wax can be applied by the atelier over patinas.
